Phobia Anyone?
Where did this odd phobia originate? God only knows. I've had it ever since I can remember. In fact, the first time I remember it actually bothering my sleep was when I was about five. I awoke with my nightlight shining on an open closet. A closet only full of clothes, shoes, and a few toys. And as much as I tried to just close my eyes and fall back into dreamland, I had to get out of bed and close the closet door before I could safely fall back to sleep.
Every night the closing of the closet door is part of my bed time routine. I am not sure my husband even notices one way or the other (or my oddness of closing it before I sleep). But I do know that before I can put my son to bed--you guessed it--I close his closet door. It's likely he'll inherit this craziness.
So, please Internet, does anyone else have this strangeness? I'd hate to be alone in my open-closet phobia.
