What? No Writing Updates?
It's been a while hasn't it? The 'writing' part of 'mommy writer' has sorta been side-tracked (or drop-kicked out of the way) for bigger and more prominent things in my life-- like getting myself another mortgage on a new house and trying to sell a home, and well all things NOT writing. So, it must be time for an update.
...
That is, if there was one.
See, I am a fits and spurts writer. I am either completely in the game, or so far out in left field I'd rather be cleaning my basement of clutter than writing. And right now, I'm far in the left field (not enough to actually clean the basement out yet, but getting their).
Am I recommending you schedule your writing time this way? Hell no. It doesn't always work. And tends to cause heartburn every time you decide you will AGAIN focus on writing and your dream. See, I then have to pull teeth, piss and moan about actually not watching prime time television, and give up sleep to get back on the writing bandwagon. And every time it feels worse than the time before.
Granted, I don't ever completely give up writing (you see blog posts don't you?)... but I do let my novel projects sit and ferment for a while. And the latest one has been fermenting for at least a month. Which, if I think about it, is getting pretty damn stank sitting around in my brain waiting to spill out. Of course, that means, I'm ready to step in my writing prime time real soon. And these blog posts will become even more mundane. But hey, what can I say? It's all about the writing.
