Life & Times in the Publishing World
Instead of getting 'the call' I've done a Google search--the editor (the good soul who was considering my manuscript for publication) is leaving the publishing house. My book is headed down the dreaded path of being 'passed on' to another editor. Meaning, as the good soul leaves her position--she hands off her projects to another editor. The likelihood of that editor picking me up as a new author? A crap shoot.
After 7 months of waiting to hear and answer and now this, I am disappointed. At first I tried not to be--thinking, "Hey, I have another editor to look at my work and like it and want to promote it," but then I woke up and entered reality. I guess it IS time to get my ass in gear and get those sub-plots added for the half-way interested agent. I'm going to need her...so I better put on my best game face and show her what I've got.
