Nadda, Ziltch
No matter. I mean, I was just looking for a little insight into the business. I put the call out there really to see if anyone would prove me wrong. But, as I suspected, unless your B I G, you don't make a whole bunch of money writing. And, really, that isn't why all of us do it right?
Onto other writing matters on hand... I am now shuffling 1 novel, 2 novellas, and a short story (thou not busy? Ha! Never!). I'm miraculously finding time to work on them all in a semi-rotating basis. Well really it is a what-book-do-I-feel-like-writing-now basis--but it is working for me. Have about 4000 words this week. Which, being that it is the first work week back since vacation and I have been so busy during my days that I have forgotten to pee, a good week for me.
Status on submitted pieces? A short story in a contest (winner announced October 1). A short story submitted to a subscription eZine (still waiting to hear back from them). And, today, I wrote a pitch for my serial fiction novel... well it is was a submission too--but I hinted HEAVILY that he could pick it up as a featured fiction piece each month. It is a nifty little start up eZine that doesn't pay-- but I believe in the cause the editor/publisher is pitching so I donated my writing (if, of course, he publishes my stuff. Check it out here: Shakespeare's Minivan.
All in all, I am not complaining--no blog readers**, hey, who cares?!?! I'm writing my fiction!
**I know you are there Suzanne, Kevin, Bill, Chip, Suz, and the rest of the lot. Really. Was just hoping to get some new blood--eerrr, data, for my informal poll. To expel all those rumors about e-publishing. Maybe it means I have to dig a little deeper into research!
