I'm Caught!
You know, I check my e-mail ALL DAY LONG. Like every 15 minutes, when I can (at home, while at work, when I am back at home, at coffee shops, you name it--if I have network access, I check my e-mail). I think it is an addiction.
Really. I mean, am I really expecting an important e-mail? Nope. Is there someone special that I am hoping to hear from? Yeah. An interested agent. Or an editor. But, hell- we all know that you get the call when they want to represent you--not some lousy e-mail. Oh- and I look for blog comments (of, course!). But man! You think I could just let it go, right?
My e-mail checking doesn't effect my work- in fact I get over 50 e-mails a day FOR work, during work, and relating to work projects. So, this habit of checking e-mail radically--Over-and-over-and-over could be blamed on my work. On my schedule. But, down deep, I know it is another of my blind obsessions. Let's call it a little quirk, or special trait I have that only a husband could love (or a mother. or a child).
Must finish post. Check e-mail. You never know who might try to send me a note! ;-)
